WIS GROUP’S RENEWABLE’S TEAM SCOOP ANOTHER TWO TOP AWARDS
The WIS Group Renewable’s team have done it again and scooped 2 more top industry awards at the recent ADBA awards (Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association) in the NEC in Birmingham.
ADBA is the trade association for the anaerobic digestion (AD) industry in the UK and companies and organisations working on novel technologies and processes that compliment the anaerobic digestion process and products. With their members they promote the economic and environmental benefits of AD in the UK. The ADBA represents organisations from many sectors including: AD operators, AD developers, AD equipment providers, water companies, farmers, food & drink retailers, waste companies, universities and more,The ADBA awards recognise success in innovation across all sectors of the Anaerobic Digestion (AD) and Biogas industries.
The award categories the Renewable’s team won were:
BEST AD TEAM OF THE YEAR and BEST SMALL SCALE AD PLANT.
The standard was very high this year with more entries and categories than before and is a true representation of the direction and talent in our industry and it really does show that hard work and determination from the team pays off.
Charlotte Morton, Chief Executive of ADBA told us “UK AD & Biogas Awards 2017 was a fantastic celebration of talent and innovation in our industry. Congratulations to all those who received an award; the standard this year was exceptionally high, which is excellent news given the scale of the contribution the AD industry can and needs to make urgently to the Paris climate change commitments and UN Sustainable Development Goals.”
WIS Group’s CEO and Chairman John Toner also added “We believe our in-depth knowledge of process engineering and control, state-of-the-art tailor-made design and build plants, combined with our local Northern Ireland based engineers makes WIS anaerobic digestion systems (AD) superior to the other mainland European systems on offer.”
Mr. Toner expanded into the bio-energy market seven years ago, after the company built up expertise in the water and wastewater treatment and aerospace sector. Due to the ongoing growth at the company – which recently secured a clutch of industry awards including a Best Managed Company status in the Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards Programme for the past two years running – some 12 highly skilled engineers have been recruited and WIS is offering graduate programmes at each of its five divisions.
John Toner continued to tell us “We are delighted to have won these top awards. The whole team at WIS Group work very hard throughout the year and when they receive the recognition through these awards and the success within the company it lets them see that their hard work is paying off. A huge well done to everyone at WIS Group.”
